SecretSanta is designed so participant and assignment data can be handled directly in your browser without an account or participant database.
What stays on your device
Participant names, groups, exclusions, wishlists, event details, and generated assignments are processed in the active browser tab. SecretSanta does not send assignment emails, keep draw history, or maintain a participant database.
How private links work
An individual link places one giver's assignment in the URL fragment, which is handled by the browser. Anyone who gets the complete link can reveal that assignment. Because there is no backend, these static links cannot be remotely revoked or truly expired.
Downloaded files
A reusable setup file excludes assignments by default. If you deliberately save a private draw file or organizer export, it contains secret pairing data and becomes your responsibility to store and share safely.
Website network activity
The website's code and visual assets are delivered by its hosting service. The privacy promise is specific: participant and draw data is not sent to MJ Apps. If anonymous analytics are added, they must never include names, rules, wishlists, budgets, or assignments.
